About

I started keeping a blog in November of 2000. I started with Blogger (before it was part of Google) as my content management system and have been back and forth between that and other systems (such as Blosxom). All through the transitions I’ve been able to migrate my content from one system to another with minor irritation. This WordPress-powered blog will be the final system that I use. I always wanted to write my own system but others have far more time and grasp of the design and features of a blogging platform, so I won’t re-invent the wheel.

I used to update this site a lot during high school (1998-2001) and college (GVSU, 2001-2005) as a way to keep far-off folks in touch with what’s going on. Now that I have a family of my own, I sometimes use it to let folks know about developments with them and other things I find interesting, but lately, it’s just been an archive of weekly Twitter digests – a nice way to look back in time to see what I was tweeting about.

I’ve been married to my beautiful crafter wife Ashley since May 2005 and we have three beautiful kids: Jaden, Jackson, and Avalie.

I currently work as an Enterprise Support Specialist at Open Systems Technologies in the West Michigan area, helping to support Windows/Unix servers, storage, and virtualization for local and national clients. I have a good time and am constantly learning new things.
