Reverted back to the original wordpress theme and then gave it some tweaking love. Actually kind of like it. We’ll see if it inspires me to start posting some content. Lately my internet activities mostly consist of retweeting things on Twitter and sharing stuff in Google Reader, both of which are in the side bar. I’d love to start writing about technical things, but time is short and most of my technical writing is for documentation at work. Someday…

Also, I am watching Twilight after having finished the first book.
So we signed up for recycling service a month ago from our trash disposal company Allied Waste. We have had the recycling picked up once now after missing the first pickup and I am surprised and slightly embarassed to discover that our trash is so much less full now that we recycle. I am amazed at the amount of recyclable waste that we would normally throw away in the trash bin, which now ends up crammed and compressed in the recycling tub.
When I was growing up we would recycle and my dad would haul all the boxes of this and that down to the dump. That’s the free version. The paid version consists of AW picking it up every other week and I can toss just about anything in the bin without sorting or crushing (though I do crush and rinse). Very nice.
Go me.

A neighbor I’ve never met, down at the end of the road, totally nailed my mailbox and definitely killed it. They were in a hurry and forgot something so they tried to back in to my driveway but must not have been looking in the rearview mirror (I mean, why would you? You’re only backing up..) and totally ran over the mbox and post. So it’s destroyed. And it’s the middle (?) of winter and the ground is like permafrost and impossible to dig out the broken post or put a new one in. So, thanks for that. Now I have to trudge way out of my way to the post office to pick up our mail everday. Sigh. They offered to pay whatever it takes to fix it, so that’s great. What would be better is if they showed up with all the tools and totally just replaced/fixed it. Thanks neighbors.
Had a pretty decent weekend. Jaden & Jackson have some stomach flu type thing, and I think Ashley is coming down with it so, so that’s not fun, but at least I have the week off so I’ll be around to help out and ease some stress. No real plans for the week, other than trying to disconnect from work and decompress before a busy couple of months. Hopefully I don’t pick up whatever they have and that they recover quickly!
