So looking forward to this movie. I love Ricky Gervais and everything that he does.
Most of us have a little filter we can activate that prevents us from saying everything we think. Call it lying or call it tact, it makes our lives that much easier. Luckily for comedy, however, Ricky Gervais knows how to override that switch.
The British comedian is a master of uncomfortable comedy, and “The Invention of Lying” is a perfect platform to display his craft. The first third of the movie is a contender for the smartest, funniest half hour on film this year. (Why doesn’t the Academy have a comedy award? Shame on you Oscar!)
